My party of six was seated promptly and my three kids were excited about the atmosphere of the 50's theme. Asking questions about the jukebox on the tables ect. The burgers and fries were great that we all ordered & cooked perfectly. I did not expect the fries to be alacart at 4.99, when the burgers were priced at 8.99 each. I missed that on the menu and the waitress did not tell us, just asking do you want fries or a side with that? The shakes were 5.99 each and a large portion but my kids ordered specialty ones like s'mores or strawberry shortcake and did not enjoy them. It was a waste of money. Most kids do not like graham crackers or cake on top of their drink. I would not return for the fact I could of went to a Japanese steakhouse for for the same price of those burgers, fries & shakes. If my kids did ask to go again because of the fun atmosphere, I would only order desserts for the experience.

The family was starving, we were out at Barefoot Landing for the afternoon, and we wanted to take our exchange student out for a good American burger, so Johnny Rockets it was. I ordered the Route 66, a burger with Swiss, mushrooms, onions, and mayo. Do they cook all their burgers well done? If you get a choice, I missed it on the menu and the waitress didn't ask. And my burger was well done. For someone who likes them medium rare, I found it slightly dry. There was a lot of cheese on the burger, which overwhelmed most of the taste. I lost interest about halfway through. I also ordered a chocolate male with extra malt. The malt was good but there were actual chunks of malt powder throughout the shake. I didn't get a lot of malt flavor (probably because it didn't get mixed in well enough), especially for having ordered extra malt. The plus side? Their French fries and onion rings are pretty good. The service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. And even though there were only two parties in the entire restaurant, they still came out and danced.

Milkshakes were good but a bit pricey. Had grilled chicken sandwich which was excellent, very juicy and hot. Sampled some of my son's chili fries, they were very good. Only reason for 3 stars and not higher is the price. Just too expensive for a lunch. Service was very good.

Our party of 9 enjoyed our dinner but the experience was truly five-star because of our waiter Alex. Alex did a wonderful job taking care of everyone, including five children, and we couldn't be more thankful!

Went here as a group and was seated promptly. They had a separate area for groups. The Oreo shake ordered was OK, nothing really special. My wife ordered the tuna melt and said that it was a little salty. My daughters Philly Sandwich was OK as well. Overall, just an average place but a little on the pricey side for the portions you're getting.

Spent $47 on food to go. Got across the street buns were so soggy the hot dog fell through the bun. Chicken sandwich bun just got tossed out it was so nasty. For $8 I thought I'd get fries with my burger. No that was extra. The staff were 18-20s that had no personality and could care less. I could have done better at Sonic or Wendy's for half the price. While i was waiting on my food to be made a couple that was dining in came up to the counter and told the wait staff not to worry about their order they had been sitting there too long and changed their mind. Never again.

I have visited a Johnny Rockets in Columbus, Ohio, and I liked the experience. 50's style diner, white hats, throw back with burger, fries and a shake. We paid a bit more for the experience but it was okay, the place was very clean, etc. I really wanted to like Barefoot Landing's Johnny Rockets... and I really think a 1-star rating should be explained, so here goes. Atmosphere: Okay it's June in Myrtle Beach, S.C., which means it is usually very hot outside. We walked up to Johnny Rockets and had a kid sweating profusely in his little white outfit soliciting us to come inside. Felt a little desperate and Vegas-like, but whatever. The doors were open and the A/C was doing its best to keep the outside temp at bay, but with grills and fryers rocking, it was hot and unpleasant inside the restaurant. No open windows to get a breeze going, just the front door open. So the inside felt like everything had a layer of grease coating it. Just greasy and humid. But hey, I'm the guy in S.C. in June, so I should expect the heat and I don't want to sound like one of "those people," but it was not a pleasant atmosphere - which lets face it, is what the selling point is for this place right? The waitress was very nice, and also very sweaty looking. All the employees looked like they were in the verge of dehydration, and then some song kicks off and they are up and singing and dancing. The music was WAY too loud, my wife (sitting across from me in the booth) and I could not even talk due to the volume of music. Order/Value: So then we order. Family of 5 (one being a 3 years old), and here is what goes down. (1) Corona for me (served in a bottle with a plastic cup ?????) (3) small milkshakes (1) regular milkshake (the difference is this shake comes with the cup they mixed it in and has a little extra inside) (1) grilled chicken sandwich (2) cheeseburgers (1) chicken tenders platter (1) "Basket" of regular fries (1) "Basket" of sweet potato fries Now let me explain this "basket" thing. On the menu the fries are extra, and they say "basket," and the waitress told us there were plenty in a basket. So we got (1) basket of regular and (1) basket of sweet potato fries presumably enough for our family. The fries were served on a small paper plate (saucer size) and would have been about the same as a Wendy's large fry. But the "basket" of regular fries was I think $4.99 and the Sweet Potato basket was $5.99... The chicken sandwich was small and unable to support the large bun, but it was hot and about what one would expect for a grilled chicken breast. The chicken tenders looked good on delivery, but were over-cooked and full of fried breading parts and dried out chicken. Price: We get our check, my wife takes a peak and says, "Guess." I say (thinking I am guessing slightly high) "$56.00" My wife smiles and slides the check over. $84 and change. Keep in mind there is an atrocious screw-the-tourist tax in N. Myrtle of about 11-12% when you dine-in someplace. So with tip we dropped about a bill on a burger, fries and shake lunch. I felt violated. To the good... the burgers looked good and my wife and son said they tasted good. And that's about all I can say about this place. We will not go back and have to really consider visiting another of these chains at other locations, definitely WILL NOT revisit this one in Barefoot Landing.

The food was ok- nothing special. My wife found a hair in her burger towards the end of the meal which spoiled everything for us. The milkshake was good but not great. My burger and fries were better than fast food but not by much. We will not be coming back to this chain.....
